About this Activity

The Gorilla Habituation Experience is a unique, semi-participatory conservation activity that allows visitors to play a role in the process of making wild gorillas comfortable with human presence. Unlike standard trekking, where you visit fully habituated groups that are accustomed to people, GHE focuses on families that are still in the "training" phase.

You will accompany a team of specialized researchers, trackers, and rangers into the forest. Your role is to act as a "test group," helping the gorillas learn that humans are not a threat. This is a deeper, more educational encounter where you observe the subtle techniques used by experts to communicate with and calm the primates.
